A ranching family in Montana faces off against others who are encroaching on their land. Forrie J. Smith, who plays Lloyd, is experienced in the world of Rodeo. John Dutton (Kevin Costner) often seems to "forget" his Montana accent and revert to his usual SoCal speaking voice.. Featured in WatchMojo: Top 10 Summer TV Shows That Aren’t on Your Radar (2018). I live in Darby, MT where most of this was filmed – just yesterday they were filming right across the street from me in a field with some horses and cattle. I think the show is a pretty solid story, and in a niche where Costner does his best. One thing I noticed about the first season, given my half-Indian side, is that you wonder who the good guys are and who the bad guys are – maybe both sides are good and bad. I will admit it is nice to see them filming while it is here, the ranch is right down the road from me and I pass by almost daily on my way to fish the Bitterroot River
